Leesa Mattress

Highlights

Pros

  • Good motion isolation: The Leesa performs well on motion isolation, however, it does not isolate motion as well as some other memory foam mattresses.
  • Showroom available: Leesa offers a showroom where you can try out mattresses. The Leesa Dream Gallery is located in SoHo in New York City.
  • Price: Leesa mattresses offer competitive pricing for memory foam with lower prices than many comparable models.
  • Simple delivery: Leesa mattresses are delivered in a box to your doorstep, so you don't have to schedule a delivery.

Cons

  • Only one firmness level: The Leesa only offers one firmness level in the medium firm range. Though it's designed to be a universal comfort mattress, it's not a good choice for people who need a mattress that's more soft or more firm.
  • Poor edge support: With poor edge support, sleepers may feel like they are rolling off of the side of Leesa mattresses.
  • Insufficient durability information: The Leesa has a 10 year warranty, but we don't know yet whether or not the mattress can live up to that lifespan. Founded in 2014, Leesa mattresses haven't been around long enough to prove how durable they can be.

leesa mattress constructionSleep Trial

Each Leesa mattress comes with a 100 night sleep trial. You will have up to 100 nights to try it out and get a full refund if you decide you don't like the mattress. However, Leesa requires that you keep the bed for a minimum of 30 nights. If after 30 days, you don't want to keep the mattress, it will be donated or recycled. If you purchase directly from Leesa, your refund will be coordinated with the company, but if you order from Amazon, you will have to coordinate your return with Amazon.

Warranty

Leesa has a 10 year non-prorated full replacement limited warranty. There are no deductibles offered with the Leesa warranty. For the first 10 years, Leesa will repair or replace visible indentations deeper than one inch. They will also replace flaws in the craftsmanship or cover. Normal increases in memory foam softness, comfort preference, physical damages, and additional parts are not covered. Mattresses are only covered for the original owner in the U.S., Canada, or U.K. when purchased in new first-quality condition through authorized dealers. Although all covered repairs or replacements are free under the warranty, owners are responsible for paying transportation and shipping fees for replacement or repair of defective parts.

If you prefer to get a new mattress after noticing a warranty defect, you can upgrade at a lower cost rather than purchasing a new mattress outright. You'll pay the difference between what you paid for the original mattress and the cost of the new mattress. If applicable, you will also have to pay for any additional required components that aren't being replaced under the warranty.

Shipping

Leesa mattresses are compressed into plastic in a box and shipped via UPS to the United States, Canada, and the U.K. Typically, mattresses ship within three to five business days and are delivered one to five business days after that in North America. In the U.K., deliveries usually take at least one week. There is no charge for delivery.

The mattress arrives in a box with handles for easy maneuvering. Deliveries are not scheduled, however, you can contact UPS Ground to schedule a specific delivery time. It's also a good idea to contact a property manager or doorman about your mattress delivery if you live in an apartment or condo.

Mattress Removal

Leesa does not remove old mattresses, as all new mattresses are delivered via UPS.

Mattress Performance

How firm is the Leesa mattress?

The Leesa offers a medium firm mattress. Designed as a universal comfort mattress, the Leesa offers a firmness level that works for most sleepers. However, it is not a good choice for people who need a very firm or very soft mattress.

How much motion transfer will you get with the Leesa mattress?

Made with memory foam, the Leesa has little to no motion transfer. That means you shouldn't experience sleep disruptions when a partner moves in bed.

Does the Leesa mattress have good edge support?

Like many other memory foam beds, the Leesa performs poorly on edge support. Sleepers may get the sensation that they're rolling off the edge of the bed.

Will the Leesa mattress smell when it arrives?

Typical of foam mattresses, you can expect some offgassing smells from the Leesa mattress, especially right after the mattress is removed from the box. Usually, the smell will dissipate within a week, but sleepers with more sensitive noses may be bothered by the smell longer than that.

How supportive is the Leesa mattress?

The Leesa mattress has two layers of foams with good density that respond well to pressure and offer good spinal alignment and pressure point relief.

Will the Leesa mattress conform to my body?

The Leesa has good point elasticity that offers excellent conforming ability, so it contours to support the curves of your body.

How long should the Leesa mattress last?

On the market since 2014, there is no data on the long-term durability of Leesa mattresses. The Leesa's memory foam construction, particularly with higher-density foams, indicates that you should expect good durability from this mattress. However, there are some customer complaints of sagging or indentations.

Is the Leesa mattress good for sex?

The Leesa's comfort layer is made of resilient foam, however, as is the case with most memory foam mattresses, the bed is not responsive enough to be ideal for sexual activity.

How does the Leesa mattress support different sleeping positions?

Side: Good for average (130 to 230 pounds) or heavyweight sleepers (more than 230 pounds), fair for lightweight sleepers (less than 130 pounds)
Back: Good for lightweight or average weight sleepers, very good for heavyweight sleepers
Stomach: Good for lightweight and heavyweight sleepers, very good for average weight sleepers,

What do I need to know about the company?

Customer service/reputation: Leesa has a reputation for good service, but is not known for outstanding service. However, the company has a B+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. You can expect good, though not exceptional, customer service from Leesa.
